WICKLOW ROVERS AFC CLUB NOTES WEEK ENDING 13th DECEMBER 2020

At the moment the presence of Covid-19 is still causing havoc throughout the world and unfortunately it is hitting sport very hard. As it stands the numbers testing positive throughout our own country are still causing great concern among the public.  At the present all matches both competitive and friendlies are still suspended, our Saturday morning academy is currently also suspended, all team training can continue while carrying out the protocols set out by the FAI, under no circumstances should a training match take place during training as this would be a breach of the FAI no contact protocols. Our rentals slots on the all weather pitch still remain suspended until further notice.  These are extreme times we find ourselves in and we as a club are putting the health and safety of our members, their families and the extended community first, so please everyone play your part and help us to keep everyone safe. Any change to the protocols and procedures will be posted on our club Facebook page and our app at Clubzap as soon as things develops. We would be hopeful that the situation should improve in the New Year. We wish all our members, managers, coaches, their families and all our friends in sport a safe passage through these extreme times we find ourselves in.

Wicklow Rovers AFC promote soccer for schoolboys/girls, youths and senior men and ladies in the community, our club is growing all the time and any assistance with the help of running the club would be very much appreciated. At present we have a very hard working committee but we are always on the search for people interested in helping out, the club are always on the look out for people who are interested in getting involved in soccer, whether its coaching and managing or on the executive committee or a sub-committee, maybe you would just like to help as an assistant manager, help with fundraising or help just around the grounds or in any way at all, don’t hesitate, get involved, anyone interested in helping out the club in anyway can contact any committee member. So, if you are interested in doing some work around the club please contact any of the following committee members, Johnny Dunne, Stephen Clarke, Paul Delaney, Ross Byrne, Trevor Conyard, Yvonne Conyard or Jimmy Nolan. Contact numbers can be found on the club website or alternatively you can private message our club facebook page. Remember the more people we get involved the smaller amount of work everyone will have to do. At present we have people like Franny Copeland, Robbie Dover, Maria Lewins, Anthony Earls, Corinna Collins and Colin Hindle helping out doing non executive roles which takes the pressure of committee members. Recently Kevin Czwalina, Boodhan Rampersaud, BA Franey and Colm Murphy have joined our fundraising committee headed by Corinna Collins and Colin Hindle, for this the club are so grateful and appreciate their help so much. So, if you feel you have something to offer why not have a chat with one of our committee members and see where you can help our club prosper.

Our Saturday morning academy is still suspended due to Covid-19, the academy we hope will get the go ahead to resume in the New Year. We would like to thank all the kids and parents for their attendance throughout 2020 and we look forward to seeing you all back for 2021. Johnny and the executive of Wicklow Rovers AFC would like to wish all the kids and parents of our academy a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. We hope Santa is good to you all.
